Privacy Policy

Effective date: 2026-06-16 · Application: Great-Places (iOS) · Contact: braimond@gmail.com

This Privacy Policy describes how the Great-Places application ("the Application") handles your information. The Application is published by Bruno Raimondo ("the Service Provider"). By using the Application, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy.

What the Application does

Great-Places helps you discover nearby top-rated places (restaurants, cafes, bars, hotels, and shops). It requests your device location and queries Google's Places API to display rated venues near you.

Information the Application collects

The Application does not collect your name, email address, phone number, contacts, photos, health data, or any other personally identifiable information. The Application does not require an account.

How location data is used

Your device location is used solely to:

Location data is not stored on the Service Provider's servers, is not retained after the query, is not used for advertising, and is not sold or rented to anyone.

Third-party services

The Application sends location-based search queries to the Google Places API (operated by Google LLC) in order to retrieve nearby places. Your location coordinates are transmitted to Google as part of each query. Google's handling of this data is governed by Google's Privacy Policy, available at https://policies.google.com/privacy.

The Application does not use any analytics SDK, advertising SDK, crash reporting service, or other third-party data collection tools.

Cookies, pixels, and tracking

The Application is a native iOS application. It does not use web cookies, tracking pixels, or cross-app/cross-site tracking technologies. It does not request the App Tracking Transparency permission.

Data storage and security

All preferences stored by the Application reside locally on your device. The Service Provider does not operate any backend servers that store your data. Standard iOS sandbox protections apply to all locally stored data.

Data retention

Because the Service Provider does not store your data on any server, there is nothing on the Service Provider's side to retain or delete. To remove all data stored locally by the Application, uninstall the Application from your device.

Your rights

You may control the Application's access to your location at any time through your iOS device's Settings (Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services → Great-Places). Revoking location access will prevent the Application from finding nearby places but will not otherwise affect the Application.

Because no personally identifiable data is collected or stored by the Service Provider, requests for access, correction, or deletion of personal data do not apply in the usual sense. If you have any concern about your privacy in relation to the Application, contact the Service Provider at braimond@gmail.com.

European users (GDPR)

If you are located in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or Switzerland, your location data is processed on the lawful basis of your consent (granted via the iOS location permission prompt) for the legitimate interest of providing the requested service. You may withdraw consent at any time by disabling the location permission. Queries sent to Google may be processed outside the EEA under standard contractual clauses or other lawful transfer mechanisms maintained by Google.

California users (CCPA / CPRA)

The Service Provider does not sell or share personal information as defined by the CCPA/CPRA. California residents have the right to know, correct, delete, and not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. To exercise these rights, contact braimond@gmail.com.

Children

The Application is not directed at children under 13 and the Service Provider does not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the Application, please contact braimond@gmail.com.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

The Service Provider may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Effective date" at the top of this page. Continued use of the Application after such updates constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
